P54 is abundantly expressed in most tissues, in gastric cancer, DDX6 positively regulated the expression of HER2 and FGFR2 and promoted the process of c-Myc (PMID: 29314290). In the process of mRNA degradation, P54 may play a role in mRNA decapping. P54 is involved in the replication of hepatitis C virus genomes in hepatocytes and in tumourigenesis of hepatocellular carcinomas (PMID: 12823589).
