Tetraspanins have been involved in diverse processes such as cell activation and proliferation, adhesion and motility, differentiation, and cancer. TSPAN9 is relatively highly expressed in the megakaryocyte/platelet lineage and has a role in regulating platelet function in concert with other platelet tetraspanins and their associated proteins. TSPAN9 has been identified as a glycoprotein (PMID: 18795891). This polyclonal antibody detects endogenous TSPAN9 at a band of 29-33 kDa, which is larger than the calculated molecular weight of TSPAN9 (27 kDa), probably due to glycosylation.
