NgR is expressed predominantly by neurons in the brain. It is the receptor of Nogo-A (Nogo-66), oligodendrocyte myelin protein (OMgp) and myelin-associated glycoprotein (MAG), and mediates inhibition of axonal regeneration (PMID: 12694398). The apparent molecular wight of NgR detected by this antibody is 64 kDa, which is larger than the calculated molecular weight of NgR, probably due to glycosylation (PMID: 15751227; 12694398).
