The CAMKMT enzyme participates in cell cycle and development, regulating the production of calmodulin with three methyl lysine residues directly or indirectly. It also plays a major role in the calcium-dependent signaling pathway and posttranscriptional modifications, including Lys-115. CAMKMT is expressed mainly in the brain, liver, muscle, colon, and lung and is involved in muscle cell activities that are regulated by calcium binding (PMID: 27435482).
