Overview
The JB-2 Staining system is particularly useful when focusing hemoglobin in a low concentration. O-dianisidine, the major component of the Gel Stain Concentrate, is oxidized in the presence of hydrogen peroxide at the site of hemoglobin. This reaction produces an insoluble, colored precipitate proportional to the amount of hemoglobin present. All reagents in the JB-2 Staining System may be stored at room temperature (2-30°C).
