Pacific Blue™ C5-Maleimide Pacific Blue™ C5-maleimide is an excellent reagent for thiol-selective modification, quantitation and analysis. In this reaction, the thiol is added across the double bond of the maleimide to yield a thioether. This compound does not react with methionine, histidine or tyrosine. Reaction of Pacific Blue™ C5-maleimide with amines usually requires a higher pH than reaction of maleimides with thiols.
