Product Description
Atlantis HILIC Silica columns are used in combination with high organic mobile phases (>80% acetonitrile) to provide retention of analytes that are simply too polar to be retained by reverse-phase chromatography. HILIC separation mechanisms provide orthogonal analyte selectivity compared to traditional chromatographic reversed-phase approaches.

Additional Information
Atlantis Silica HILIC Column, 100Å, 5 µm, 4.6 mm X 250 mm, 1/pk The Atlantis Silica HILIC Column allows you to easily retain and separate very polar, water-soluble basic organic compounds. These include actives, metabolites, and peptides. The challenging separation problems of very polar analytes are resolved with Atlantis Silica HILIC Column as it is the ideal lab equipment suited to deal with the combination of their hydrophilic nature and net positive charge. This is made possible using the Hydrophilic Interaction Chromatography (HILIC) alternate separation technique as they are too polar to be retained by reversed-phase HPLC techniques. The Atlantis Silica HILIC Column also offers improved LC/ESI-MS response as well as direct compatibility with SPE solvents and complementary selectivity when compared to the traditional reversed-phase HPLC columns. Leverage the long column lifetime provided by the Atlantis Silica HILIC Column. You also get universal compatibility with all LC detectors when using the Atlantis Silica HILIC Column. This is in addition to outstanding column-to-column reproducibility. Often, using the traditional reversed-phase HPLC columns severe peak tailing for polar bases is observed. With the Atlantis Silica HILIC Column, you get superior peak shapes for polar bases while leveraging faster and easier method development. The catalog also has details of products similar to the one listed here as well as listings with more pieces per pack. You may also be interested in Atlantis Silica HILIC VanGuard Cartridge, 100Å, 5 µm, 3.9 mm X 5 mm, 3/pk . The Atlantis HILIC VanGuard Cartridge has been designed to be used in conjunction with the Atlantis Silica HILIC Column to ensure that your analytical column lasts a long time. This is achieved by the VanGuard Cartridge by removing chemical and particulate contamination from the mobile phase stream, thus increasing the column’s lifetime and performance.
FAQ
How Is The Atlantis Silica HILIC Column Equilibration Done? Equilibrate in 50% acetonitrile/ 50% aqueous buffer (10 mM final buffer concentration) for 50 column volumes when you receive the Atlantis Silica HILIC Column. Before the first injection, equilibrate with 20 column volumes of initial mobile phase conditions. When running gradients, use 10 column volumes between injections. Please note that if the column is not properly equilibrated, you could have drifting retention times.
