How Should I Clean My XBridge BEH C18 XP Column? If a flushing procedure does not solve any column performance issues, you will need to clean and regenerate the column. Your cleaning routine should match the property of your samples and stationary-phase type, and solubilize the suspected contaminant. Flush the column with 20 column volumes of solvent at an intermediate temperature of 45 degrees C, then reverse the sequence to return to the initial mobile-phase conditions.
For reversed-phase columns, purge with a sequence of progressively non-polar solvents, for example, water-tomethanol to tetrahydrofuran to methylene chloride.
