At the same time, the XBridge BEH C8 XP Column is compatible with all HPLC, UHPLC, and UPLC Technology platforms. By utilizing advanced packing technology, XBridge BEH C8 XP Columns are able to achieve exceptional performance and equivalent backpressure when compared to core-shell columns while exhibiting improved loading capacity and particle size scalability inherent to fully porous particle columns. XBridge BEH columns are designed to maximize productivity for method development by improving pH stability and column reliability while maximizing particle efficiency. By basing these columns on the Ethylene Bridged Hybrid (BEH) particle, column performance and lifetime are improved even under harsh operating conditions thanks to the unique combination of two high purity monomers. Tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) and bis(triethoxysilyl) ethane (BTEE) combine to create a highly stable, pH resistant, and mechanically strong particle with applications in a range of lab equipment . The XBridge BEH C8 XP Column features XBridge BEH C8 sorbent, a less retentive option when compared with the XBridge BEH C18 sorbent. Method developers may prefer the speed offered by the less retentive C8 ligand, while not compromising peak shape or chromatographic performance. This trifunctionally bonded sorbent allows for the widest usable pH range (2-12) and ultra-low column bleed. All XBridge packing materials are designed to provide excellent peak shape, high efficiency, and excellent stability for both acidic and basic mobile phases. To ensure these results, each batch of material is tested chromatographically to ensure reproducible performance. Reversed-Phase QC Reference Material can be used for further testing.

How Do I Test Column Efficiency In The XBridge BEH C8 XP Column? Before using your column for the desired application, you can perform a simple efficiency test. Waters recommends using a suitable solute mixture to analyze the column upon receipt. You can reference the Performance Test Chromatogram for guidance.
Then, determine the number of theoretical plates (N) and use this value for periodic comparisons. Repeat the test at predetermined intervals in order to track column performance.
