Product Description
XBridge Protein BEH SEC, 200 Å Columns, containing 3.5um particles are based on the same Waters Ethylene Bridged Hybrid (BEH)-based particle technology and diol-bonded surface coating as used in our successful line of HPLC-based SEC columns. They are best suited to separate proteins ranging from 10,000 – 450,000 Daltons. Note: P/N 1763596 contains an XBridge Protein BEH SEC, 200 Å, 3.5um 7.8 x 30 Column with one vial the BEH200 SEC Protein Std (P/N 186006518)

Additional Information
XBridge Protein BEH SEC Column, 200Å, 3.5 µm, 7.8 mm X 300 mm, 1/pk Crafted to deliver superior performance to other silica-based size-exclusion chromatography (SEC) offerings, Waters’ XBridge Protein BEH SEC Column, 200Å, 3.5 µm, 7.8 mm X 300 mm allows chromatographers to easily develop and transfer SEC methods based on laboratory instrumentation, required protein component resolution, and sample throughput requirements. These columns were designed for use on HPLC instrumentation and to complement existing smaller particle-sized, UPLC-based SEC columns for SEC of proteins. For the discovery, development, and quality assessment of protein-based biotherapeutics, XBRidge Protein BEH SEC Columns support reliable, high resolving SEC methods. With the ability to separate proteins from approximately 10k to 1500k Daltons, columns are flow and pressure tolerant for increased sample throughput on HPLC systems when compared with other traditional, silica-based SEC columns with particles >5 µm. This is all done while providing higher throughput capability to chromatographers. The BEH particle technology used in this column is used in chromatography for a range of biological compounds with stability and performance attributes that are not found in many other traditional, 100% silica-based particles. By combining this BEH base particle with the innovative diol bonding process in these columns, you are able to achieve improved column stability, performance, and lifetime that is unprecedented in most SEC columns. Compared to other silica-based SEC columns, fewer charged silanols exist on the diol coated BEH particles contained in XBridge Protein BEH SEC columns, which means less non-desirable ion interactions will occur between the protein and the SEC particle. All Waters lab equipment , including any HPLC or UPLC SEC particles, are synthesized in ISO-certified manufacturing facilities using high-quality raw materials. They are thoroughly quality control tested throughout the synthetic process, and each material is tested against relevant proteins in order to ensure batch to batch consistency and offer confidence in validated methods.
FAQ
What Is SEC? SEC stands for size-exclusion chromatography, also known as molecular sieve chromatography. This is a chromatographic method where molecules in a solution are separated by their size, or sometimes their molecular weight. It is most often used with large molecules or macromolecular complexes, like proteins and industrial polymers.
SEC is widely used as a method of polymer characterization because of its ability to provide good molar mass distribution results in polymers. It is also often used to examine the stability and characteristics of natural organic matter in water. SEC can be applied without interfering with the filtration process and using a minimal volume of eluate.
